Den Poitras paintings

Fitchburg, Mass.—Two and three dimensional paintings by Den Poitras will be on display at the Hammond Art Gallery at Fitchburg State College Oct. 25 through December 2.

Poitras will host an artist talk at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Ellis White Lecture Hall in the Hammond Campus Center, followed by a 7 p.m. opening reception in the gallery.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (978) 665-3177.

Poitras is an artist from Ashburnham who specializes in paintings, murals and collage work.

“My custom painted murals and decorative work are limited only by one's imagination. ‘Where there's a will, there's a way’ holds true in my aesthetic approach,” Poitras said. “There is, or can be, a technique to achieve most any kind of effect. Inspiration comes first, then follows technique … You will be taken ‘there’ – there being that special place, that dreamy world we all seek that's light years away from the harsh everyday one in which we find ourselves. “
