Sponge
work has a repetitive pattern that gets in your face. It can cause
one to leave a room without knowing why. Decorating a wall with
a rag dipped in paint creates a non-repetitive pattern that's
soothing and endlessly interesting at the same time---- like watching
a fire, or the surface of a pond. First the base-coat is applied.
Of course this can be anyone's favorite color chosen for a particular
room. Two-thirds white is added to the base-coat color and a cotton
rag does a magic dance upon it. The contrast is subtle, the patterns
are never repeated. Damaged, uneven walls are hidden. If you make
holes in the walls by always changing your mind about which pictures
to hang, then it's nice to know that rag work is repairable----wallpaper
isn't. But rag work looks like thousand dollar wallpaper. It's
the ultimate solution for a room that demands a sophisticated
elegance and you don't have to remortgage your home to do so.
Painting with vivid
colors, free and vibrant decorative effects. This is faux painting.
And trompe l'oeil-----realistic architectural painting that fools
the eye. We can work together to achieve whatever you envision.
Though I can make large, naturalistic murals rather quickly, detailed
work is demanded from the artist who does trompe l'oeil. I'm capable
of achieving a certain degree of super-realism and would rise
to the challenge. I know, time is money and money is time, but
don't be let down. No, I'm not cheap but you'll not have to go
over your head to beautify your home or business and you'll be
pleasantly surprised to learn how I can work with almost anyone's
budget. |
